At Somewhere, you’ll find it. That somewhere is right on the ground floor of the five-star hotel named Somewhere, a new boutique luxury addition to Athens.

The hotel’s restaurant Bistro Lutetia is part of the venue’s fine charm, a convergence of clean earthen lines and modern calm aesthetic.

The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor dining areas.

The dining patio was a quiet space. It featured a bar just steps away from Somewhere’s sparkling rectangular pool and sunbathing lawn.

It’s summer in Greece! So, of course, our group took seats outdoors where we were surrounded by a lovely Mediterranean evening and the lush greenery of the property.

With the not-too-distant seafront framing the view on the open-air dining patio, it was starting to be that quintessential Athens Riviera dining experience. It was only completed by sipping some pre-dinner creative cocktails by the pool.

Bistro Lutetia in Athens: The Menu

Behind Bistro Lutetia’s menu is chef Christoforos Peskias, an award-winning chef who has built the names of some of the top restaurants in Greece.

Next, I particularly enjoyed the flavorful mozzarella di buffalo, a plate of baked cherry tomatoes and crispy prosciutto.

There’s something about the bite and wholeness of quinoa.  Bistro Lutetia did it well, as a salad with peas, avocado, cucumber and a honey-lemon vinaigrette.

The menu of main courses is a range of selected Mediterranean flavors as well as classic international dishes with a Greek touch.

The grilled tenderloin with mashed celeriac and vinsanto wine sauce was a delicious main dish to sample. Roasted chicken, served with baby potatoes and a tangy gravy sauce, was a hearty delight.

Grilled grouper, served with peas puree and steamed vegetables, featured a tasteful prosecco sauce.

Bistro Lutetia Dessert Surprise

In all these years living in Greece, I hadn’t had the chance to order one of the classic American desserts: key lime pie.  Yet, there it was in front of me, and it impressed.

Oh my! Key lime pie.

The tangy lime cream and a perfect crumbly crust paired well with a scoop of mango sorbet.  Chef Peskias’ experience living in the U.S. certainly influenced this addition to the bistro’s dessert list.

Dining at Bistro Lutetia

Overall, I recommend this new addition to Athens’ dining scene.  I loved the outdoor patio and the dishes were diverse and satisfying. Living in the center of the capital, I often forget how lovely it is to be out and about by the Greek sea.

For a quiet place to have a quality cocktail, Bistro Lutetia fits the bill too. Before or after you can have a lovely walk since Somewhere is just a stone’s throw away from a walk on the promenades of the beautiful Athens Riviera.

Oh, and I definitely know where to go for some real American key lime pie!
