Mediterranean Village in Pieria: Beach Luxury
The Mediterranean Village in Pieria combined two of my favorite stay experiences while on holiday: a nearby beach and elegant comfort.
A Pieria Beach Resort Luxury Hotel
Greece has the most stunning coastline in Europe. I love hotels that manage to offer something to its guests to make that Greek stay-by-the-sea experience even more unique. My weekend at the Mediterranean Village in Pieria, a five-star luxury hotel set right on the beach, met that expectation many ways.
The Space at Mediterranean Village in Pieria
The design was modern, warm colors, with everything having a feeling of being new, right out of the package. What set the space apart was my balcony view. When I drew the blackout curtains back each morning, the sun poured in over Katerini’s sandy shore as the endless sea gently rocked in the distance. If I wasn’t working, I could sit out on the balcony for some time just reading a book or breathing in the fresh air.
Mediterranean Village Location
The hotel was located right on Greece’s gorgeous Olympus Riviera. Out on the grounds, the view was a balance of the Mt. Olympus’ snow covered peaks and Katerini’s sandy yellow beach. In Pieria, you can have snow and sand together!
Pieria remains to be a relatively unknown Greek destination compared to other parts of Greece. Located about four hours via car from Athens and one hour from Thessaloniki, the region is considered an up-and-coming place in the northern part of the country. It was dotted with fantastic archaeological sites, museums, local wineries and top-quality restaurants.
Take a look at my earlier blog post titled Weekend in Pieria to discover the best things to do in the area.
The Mediterranean Village in Pieria turned out to be an excellent home base. Coming back to a beach resort luxury gave a different face to the entire weekend. A great place to relax.
Beach Luxury Hotel Highlights
The buffet breakfast was well staffed and featured many buffet choices. The dining area looked out onto a beautiful patio and beyond it, the hotel beach.
The beach was empty due to the season, but it was clearly a wide expanse that could easily accommodate many guests.
The hotel’s Venus Spa featured a sauna, pool, steam room and a gym. A full list of message and facial treatments were available.
One night we ate at the on-site Erato Restaurant. The Mediterranean dishes were excellent, paired with local wines. The Mediterranean Village in Pieria had several restaurants to choose from on the premises. There was also a bar and a nightclub.
Conclusion:
This hotel is well suited for the traveler seeking a luxury yet unpretentious stay experience on the Olympus Riviera.
Cons:
It wouldn’t be the choice for those seeking traditional accommodation or boutique luxury. Keep in mind this is a large five-star hotel built with a modern touch. It can accommodate many people.
Pros:
The Mediterranean Village in Pieria is a perfect family hotel. Families would easily find the services accommodating, and appreciate the convenience of staying at a beach front property. The hotel is within enough driving distance for various excursions.
The hotel is also a suitable hotel for couples seeking a similar experience but with a great option of the on-site spa.

Have you ever stayed at a great hotel in Pieria? Would love to hear about it.
Nice hotel. And from 80euro++ maybe not bad for a 5star Hotel. If they have spa and a gym they should also have activities. 🙂 It makes the stay more fun.
Hi Angela. Yes, great point. I agree, a fantastic bargain starting at 80 Euro +.
This is fantastic! I’m definitely dragging The Greek Mister there on our next holiday. :p
I’m glad you liked the post 🙂 Yes, it was a nice stay indeed!!! Hope you guys go.
