Ionian Islands

The Ionian islands are the western islands closest to Italy, boasting Italian influences.  Two of the largest, Zakynthos and Kefalonia are stunners. Ithaca is so charming. These islands are reachable via bus/car (4 hours) then ferry (1-2 hours) from the western port of Kyllini. Ferries also leave from Patras. Flights can be scheduled, too.
